Malgorzata Goroszewska in a Rare Appearance at the PCF

The Polish Cultural Foundation invites you to an evening of music on October 18th, 2013 at 8:00 p.m.  The concert will feature Malgorzata Goroszewska.  Tickets will be sold at the door.

Malgorzata Goroszewska is currently pursuing a Master’s of Music under Professor Joseph Kalichstein at The Juilliard School (New York). A Polish native, she grew up with affinity for the Polish composer Fredric Chopin. In 2010 she was honored by the Polish Institute in Vienna for her interpretations of Chopin’s music and was awarded the Warsaw City Scholarship of John Paul II. Last year, she toured with the international orchestra „I, Culture orchestra”, an ongoing project to bring Eastern and Western Europe together through music (concerts in Lublin, Warsaw, Minsk, Kiev, Chisinau and Tbilisi). 

 

 Malgorzata was born in 1988 in Bialystok (Poland), where she later started her music education. In her teenage years she participated in numerous music competitions as a soloist, chamber musician, collaborative pianist, theorist and composer in Poland and abroad. She received three artistic scholarships in 2007: the Otwarta Filharmonia Agrafki Muzycznej, the Podlaskie Marshal's Scholarship and the Morningside Music Bridge –scholarship from Mount Royal College in Calgary.

 

 

At 19, the pianist began her undergraduate studies at the F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (Poland), as a student of Edward Wolanin piano class. She continued her education at UMFC in Warsaw and also at the Hochschule fur Musik, Theater und Medien Hanover (Germany) on “the Erasmus” scholarship in 2011, cooperating with pianists Christopher Oakden and Bernd Goetzke. 

 Malgorzata has taken part in numerous festivals, master classes in Poland (Krynica Zdroj, Suwalki, Wigry, Zamosc, Zakopane, Zamosc, Warszawa) as well in Canada (Morningside Music Bridge, Mount Royal College in Calgary), Austria (Euro Music Festival, Klosterneuburg);  (Sommerakademie Prag-Wien–Budapest), Germany (EMF, Wuppertal). She has worked with: Edward Wolanin, Krzysztof Jablonski, Lee Kum Sing, John Perry, Hang Jin, Nicholas Pulos, David Moroz, Zbigniew Raubo, Ella Susmanek, Roza Kostrzewska -Yoder., B. Goetzke, Martin Hughes, Gottlieb Wallish, Sandor  Falvai, Aviedis Kouyoumdijan, A. Popowa Zydron, M. Woskriesienski.
